The way I understand it, it is not that we are to 'wait'. Krsna Concsiousness is not about waiting. I always understood that the idea was that the lord sees that finaly we have a desire to get out of this world, and then he sends us guidance about spiritual life. Look at us. We all got that inconceivable mercy of finding out that there is an alternative. We got the books of Srila Prabhupada. But it is up to us at every step of the way to make each new move towards Krsna. He wants us to be happy, and if he sees that we are happy with sense gratification he will give us that. So the onus is on us. If the criteria is waiting, we will get nowhere. Rather it is according to the intensity of our desire, that we get Krsna. So if we *really* want a pure devotee, he can come now! No need to wait. The problem is (I feel) that we dont really want to surrender. I know I dont want to surrender fully right now (I am open to the idea of trying, but it scares me). If anyone out there says they are really hankering, but the pure devotee has not come to them, I would say that they are not being honest. I mean we profess to be a movement of personalists. That means we take shelter of actual persons. Krsna is a person, and he can send any person he wants, anytime, and will do if he sees a soul who REALLY wants that kind of help. Surely this is the essence of spiritual life? Ys Sd.
