Guest guest
---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Text COM:2378911 (25 lines) Bhakti Vikasa Swami 07-Jun-99 05:49 Granddisciples (of Srila Prabhupada) [2495] importance of preaching activities --------------------------- By some standards our devotees my lack certain features of advancement, but noone can match them when it comes to the principle of preaching. By preaching one introduces the lost souls back to Krsna. Srimati Radharani gets her highest pleasure not from serving Krsna directly but from inducting other servants into the service of the Lord. And whatever pleases Srimati Radharani the most, is certainly the most pleasing thing to Krsna. When Nitai dasa left, he criticised that our devotees were not chanting 64 rounds and therefore could not go back to Godhead in this life, that they were not observing all the regulations of shastras like Hari-bhakti vilasa etc. etc. When Prabhupada was informed of his criticisms his reply was "You take all of the babajis in Vrindavana together and you will see they have not advanced Lord Caitanya's movement one inch!" In other words, there were persons who were claiming initmate connections with the Lord and criticising Srila Prabhupada and his devotees as if they were less advanced, but Prabhupada had a practical yardstick by which to make his assessment of who is actually an intimate associate of the Lord. Therefore we should not underestimate the potency and importance of preaching activities by thinking that those that are so engaged are somehow not very intimately connected with the Lord (nikkunijuno-ratikeli siddhayi). In actual fact they are the most intimately connected--more than those who may be chanting 64 rounds, studying shastra, discussing rasa-tattva etc. These are glorious activities no doubt, but preaching is the most glorious. We know this because Prabhupada said so and we should have faith that those who are so engaged are actually very advanced Vaisnavas.
