Why don't we rename it to the Discussions conf. since there is > practically nothing about varnasrama. If someone does not like the discussions, there is always the "withdraw" option. My opinion is that, for example the men-woman discussions, are very much varnasrama, because varnasrama consists of men and women. Furthermore I think that ISKCON have a big problem in that field. (particularly the women field) There are also repressed minorities in ISKCON, and my opinion is that we need to widen our viewpoint of what is allowed behavior to include everyone that simply does not have a demoniac mentality. Is varnasrama really for a few fanatics, or is it for everyone? The problem with a conference called "discussions" is that the subject matter is undefined, and tend to deviate even more. Compare non-devotee talk with devotee talk. Devotees talk a lot of things that is not directly shastra, but it still comes back to Krishna now and then, since everyone is aware of Krishna. It like rotates around Krishna as a centerpoint, although there can be pretty wide circles. Non-devotee talks are not even aware of the center of everything, and for them it is even impossible to come near Krishna, and their talk thus deviates much more. ys Prisni dasi
