In my view, Samba is right on the mark in his conclusion that high-class association is essential (ie, not an option) at every stage and for everyone (SP's sisyas included) to make progressive advancement in devotional service. As far as not undersatnbding this point previousely, there's been a lot of delusion in ISKCON over the years, so this wouldn't be the first instance.
