Unless they were never really THAT advanced and we unfairly put them up on

high pedestals for which they had not the fortitude. We tend to push people

into positions of pretentious "advancement" in order that we may feel more

"advanced" ourselves if we can gain some popularity or favor from this

big-gun.

 

Maybe some of them are still just basic devotees, bhaktas, like so many of us

and deserve to be treated respectfully and realistically. If one is never "up"

on something he can never fall down, "cuz he's already on the ground".
