The whole thing is reminiscent of all the best of ISKCON's most cultish days.

If your on their boat, your saved, if not, your a self-centered demon going to

hell.

As far as I know, Satsvarupa Maharaja backed off from NM's association as

gracefully as I would imagine is possible. I was in India during Kartik '94,

and Satsvarupa Maharaja spent a week with his disciples in Mayapur focusing on

reading Prabhupada's books. When I went to Vrndavana, the NM followers still

seemed to think he was their intimate confident.

To me, their 'elevated' scene was way too sugar-syrupy, but that could just be

a result of my hard-assed East Coast conditioning (and proud of it!) Still, I

remember going on a nice parikrama with some of them around Govardhana Hill.

Again, I'm probably biased, but it really seemed that SDG tried to be as

respectful as possible about it all, and then you hear this kind of stuff.

Obviously this gopi bhava condition is a part of our philosophy, and I think

it's all just great if as followers of Srila Prabhupada you approach through

Prabhupada's teachings and so on. But these NM people seem to have a real

problem with that idea, and my honest opinion is that is where they really

blow it.
