KANDAVAPRASTHA: Varnasrama Currilculum Development sessions - report

Thank you Hare Krsna Mataji, for such a refreshing and welcome text. So

wonderful to hear about devotees getting together in this way, and doing

something practical towards establishing the very first steps towards a

varnasrama curriculum.

 

I feel it is very unfortunate that you are forced to work a karmi job to

subsist, which takes so much of your valuable time which could be spent

researching varnasrama topics, and setting up pilot projects.

 

If only we had some visionary leaders who could arrange to back this kind of

work till such a stage as it can.

 

Surely within a little time it would be quite possible to arrange a self

financing varnasrama college, by selling products made by the students.

Varnasrama is meant to offer a practical way in which we can dovetail our

energies into the lords service. As such it is imperative that the skills we

develop are life sustaining, and not just sentimental. Fortunately (I dont

think it is by accident) the market for natural products is increasing

expontentialy, we just need to tap into it.

 

If only more devotees could take some time to work on these aspects, as

opposed to endlessly speculating on topics, which cannot be resolved, except

by hearing the siddhantas from the lips of pure, simple hearted, humble

sadhus.
