Wherever the idea exists that you can use people as you wish, without giving them a chance to act according to their natures, that is not the way Srila Prabhupada wanted people to be treated. > It us funny that even if we don't have sufficient information, HO HO that > doesn't prevent us to condemn "them", to blast the idea all together, and > to assume that "the way I would like to do in my life now" is the way how > "they" got to do it. The way I would like to live my life, is the way Srila Prabhupada would like us to live, a way that would please him, learning to live off the land, as he wanted to instruct us in Gita Nagari. I beleive that Srila Prabhupada is right when he speaks of simple living and high thinking. I think he is right that we need a varnasrama social system. I am trying to live his idea, to grow my own food, as that will make me independant, it will also allow me to come to the mode of goodness, which I need badly to advance my consciousness. So I am adjusting my life to try to make this possible, why? Because I have faith that Srila Prabhupada is right. I beleive that that is what he wanted for his society, not that EVERYONE has to do EVERYTHING, but from what I can see its pretty clear he wanted ISKCON ot have a number of 'ideal units' of society. And when I see that this instruction is ignored, and worse, berated, I feel a sense of outrage, that so called followers are not following the instructions of their Gurumaharaja, instructions that could stop the social malaise, nor supporting anyone else who makes the attempt, but instead continue to mismanage people, and further the discord. I beleive that by following Srila Prabhupadas instructions, I will become truly free. Why else join such a movement as ISKCON, if not to follow the instructions of the acarya? Not just the book distribution ones, but all of them. The are ALL important. > So, what's that terribly wrong and against Prabhupada? Please, > explain. Both you and Janesvara seem to be reading far too much > into some simple sentence of Harsi. Actualy I did not pay any attention at all to where this was happening. nor was I criticising anyone in Germany per se. For all I know they may have a great idea, they may be doing the right thing in terms of varnasrama. As long as the society does not accept Srila Prabhupads ideas for varnasrama the society will continue in the same old paradigm all over the world, Germany, wherever, with the same kind of success and failure we have seen everwhere. Sure there may be some real success going on somewhere, despite the lack of social system, but really without social system, how can we grow in a wholesome way? It is not possible, Srila Prabhupada has said so, and for me that is enough. YS
