feel independant due to his relationship with Krsna, but that does not

necesarily mean he will be allowed to speak out. The ostracization and

practical expelling of Pradyumna prabhu, is a case in point in our own

history. If he was indpendantly situated on a piece of land in New Vrindavan

(for instance), he could not have been so easily removed, and he could still

have spoken out, in the truthful way he did, and continue to do so, thus being

a real pain to those opposed to the truth he was so rightly espousing.

So brahmanas also take practical measures that support their simple lifestyle.

Still, even in Vedic times, problems are always there. For instance, Vidura

abandoned the court of the Kauravas.

So on one hand the brahmanas may preach according to their realization, but

then their audience also needs to be able to appreciate their message. We

can't expect others to be able to appreciated everything we say simply because

we know we are right.

My own honest opinion is that I don't think our society was ready at that time

to constructively act upon his message. Yes, that is unfortunate, and we

should manage our affairs so as to avoid such things in the future.
