Guest guest
> that you are calling other immature makes me laugh. It wasn't Premananda who called someone immature, it was someone else. You are quoting the wrong guy. >What do you > think immature means - What do _you_ think it means? >you throw out all these fanatical > statements - things we simply can´t take seriously. I agree that Premananda doesn't have the most gentle way of expressing himself. I also think that his sounding as what you call fanatical could have someting to do with the fact that English is not his first language. All he has said is that we should stay together and not leave ISKCON. I agree with that. That's what Srila Prabhupada instructed us to do. > Immature > actually means not being able to put into practice what one has > heard - that seems to define your position pretty well. Maybe > you are a nice guy, but please leave us alone. When will we ever learn to respect each other's points of view? If we can't hear what a devotee has to say without getting passionate about it, how will we ever make things better in ISKCON? I know him and like him and enjoy his association. As one who is a dedicated anti-fanatic, and therefore inclined to see fanaticism where it is not, I am qualified to say that he is no fanatic. He is simply passionate about his Krsna Consciousness, as he is about everything; this is where the mood you percieve in his texts comes from. I strongly disagree! Maybe you can take some time to look that word ("fanatical") up in the dictionary. At least in the German one the explanation of that word is *only* negative (and when I used it I was aware of that). It says there: to engage o.s. blindly and passionately, trying to convince others in an intolerant and impatient way. I do not believe that Prabhupada would have liked that. And > better not to be open to learn from the wrong sources. What are the "wrong sources"? Do you know so well that mine are wrong and yours are right? More points of view give a better overall view of the real situation and of what could be done. It must be possible to clean up the mess but only if we don`t sweep anything under the carpet and dont deny others a right to feel as they do. It is useless to attack someone like Premananda Prabhu, he is obviously doing his best. Let the anger go towards the demoniac and impersonalistic mentality and the persons using this mentality to abuse others. Can we learn from history and create proper facilities for our families in or out of ISKCON? How will we do it? How does some do it? One thing we could do were to contribute financially to the Children of Krishna. We could have one day a year for instance, where all the devotees collected for them, the Children of Krishna day. Another thing one could do is to take up the responsibility of making a collection in ones yatra. The GBC could encourage such events to show their good will. It is really difficult to see immediate solutions or easy ones. To send your child to a karmi-school might prove just as much a failure and a hell as anything else. However one thing we can do is to be honest to ourselves and others. We might realize that most of us are fighting for the same cause. Therefor I find it frustrating that mostly when these points are brought up the results are either fights or silence but nothing practical. Lets make a collection again for the Children of Krishna! Could someone kindly provide the adress? I start of with 500 dk kr.Please join in to inspire others! As far as I know we are quite some members on this conference. Ys. Gm d.d. I am not referring in general to ISKCON, but to the bad things in ISKCON, and there are more than enough of them. That there are also good things and good devotees is clear, we don't have to discuss that. You haven't changed my viewpoint with nothing you said, though. And I haven't changed yours obviously. I don't mind. So let's just end this, please. I can respect your opinion without again and again repeating and emphasizing mine, and I'd be happy if you could, too (and everybody else defending you). I have Lakota friends my age who were forced from their homes at 5 and 6, put into boarding schools, made to wear Western clothes, beaten if they spoke their native tongue, their hair cut short against their religious principle. (Lakota joke about Jesuit priests who ran the schools. They were sel o bit (celibate). S.O.B. ) In ISKCON, at least the parents had some option to pull their kids out. When my oldest daughter was beaten by her ashram teacher, my wife promptly went and beat up the ashram teacher. Lakota mothers did not have that option. Although I know one potent medicine man who was taken by his grandparents and hidden away in the hills and given traditional education.
