Excuse me, I know this your question was not directed to me, but I'm curious

what's wrong with saying that ISKCON gurus are devotees of the second class

(madhyama-adhikari)? If we put emotions aside, why you consider it

offensive? It doesn't mean they are fallen or not vaisnavas. It doesn't mean

they cannot accept disciples, Srila Prabhupada said in NOI they can. But the

first class (uttama-adhikari) is the level of Srila Prabhupada and Srila

Bhaktisiddhanta. Such a devotee can never fall down. As I understand, the

GBC has recognized that the present ISKCON gurus aren't on that level,

therefore last spring the resolution appeared about vyasasanas, guru-pujas,

vyasa-pujas, etc, and the following passage was removed from the ISKCON law:

"As it is enjoined in scripture that a devotee must honor his spiritual

master as much as he honors the Lord, every devotee in ISKCON accordingly

has the right to worship, glorify, and serve his guru. As long as the guru

is in good standing, no ISKCON leader shall curtail or abrogate that right."

And why can it not be that some of them are lower than the second class? No

offence meant, just wondering. Madhyama-adhikari is quite high a level. It

begins with the stage of nistha. Would be very good if we attain it in this

life. Even to become kanistha-adhikari is not so easy because the kanistha,

by definition, should have firm faith in the Deity.

Your servant.
