Guest guest
Dear Premananda Gaura, No-one is questioning that my dear spiritual master Srila Prabhupada has written wonderful books about GURUKULA, or that there are very nice and sincere devotees in our movement. Yes, Prabhupada DID give uns brilliant things. We don´t have any doubts on that point. BUT since Prabhupada´s leaving so many things have degenerated. The gurukulas became slaughterhouses and they kept sweeping everything under the carpet - even three years ago I heard classes, telling that parents are in maya if they don´t send their children to gurukula. We didn´t join a sect, we joined a movement with the highest spiritual goal. We are not a homogenous mass, all thinking the same. We are all individuals personalities and that includes having the right to send our children where we think best. Prabhupada never forbade us from using our own intelligence. Many children who even had good experience in gurukulas are now catching up on all the material things they missed out on. One cannot hammer Krsna Consciousness into the heart of a child. The children must finally decide for themselves. Forcing a child into the gurukula - even a good one - won´t necessarily produce a devotee and sending a child to another kind of school won´t necessarily produce a demon. Our point is not to discourage those who are properly active in gurukula services, rather we are disturbed because there are still so-called holy men on the vyasasana who were never brought to justice for their criminal activities. We are supposed to be a movement of soft hearted vaisnavas practicing the highest philosophy. How can we tolerate such iniquities? Who can understand that in such an organization those who are trying to correct the horrors are being put under pressure - even being placed in the role of the offender! Prabhupada said that the movment could only be destroyed from within - so demons are within (with dhoti and tilak)- that´s why we are fighting. ys madanalasa dd
