Vaisnava's have nothing to do with anything in the pursuit of sense

gratification seperate for Krsna's devotional service.

Boy, we can debate on practically anything, huh?

I don't know. Does anyone have the quote or reference?

Ys,

Madhusudani dasi

ps. I'm starting to remove some of the receivers due to their request - and

because I really don't think the GBC discussions conference or the EC want

to see all these texts.

One thing Srila Bhaktivinode DID say was that when he sees devotees serving

as high court judges he'll believe that the Krsna consciousness movement is

progressing.

What evidence do we have that the Krsna consciousness movement has

progressed in this regard since it was put in our charge in 1977? The

evidence I see is that we have gone in the opposite direction and have

almost zero credibility to be considered for high court judge positions.

However, Srila Prabhupada clearly ordered that such training in material

knowledge be organized by the GBC and other leaders of the movement and that

varnasrama colleges be started in EVERY center of his movement. That was 25

years, 8 months and 10 days ago...and still counting.

"The age does not make the leader; the leader makes the age".

How can we put trust in our leaders when they do not heed the good advice of

their guru. Why has there not been a prioritization of resources to

implement varnasrama-dharma in ISKCON? How many more cows will be killed?

I very humbly submit that we are taking some steps towards varnasrama:

1. We now have *Srila Prabhupada on Varnasrama and Farm Community Development,

Vol. 1: Speaking About Varnasrama.* (available from Bhaktivedanta Archives

archives (AT) earthlink (DOT) net)

2. We now have a Minister of Cow Protection and Agriculture

3. We now have ISKCON Law 507, Minimum Cow Protection Standards

4. We now have the GBC Executive Committee directing all the GBC members to

comply with ISKCON Law 507. (Next inspection must be made before December 30.)

I propose the following next small step toward Varnasrama:

* All devotees in ISKCON should begin to familiarize themselves with *Srila

Prabhupada's* [not directly Manu's or Parasara'a] instructions on varnasrama by

holding weekly classes on varnasrama using the Prabhupada Varnasrama book.

This

is a small, inexpensive step to take. But if we do this for one year, then by

the end of the year, devotees all around the world will share much more of a

common vision on varnasrama than we do right now -- with everyone quoting from

different authorities.

Also, please remember that ISKCON Law 507 discusses setting up training

programs

for cowherds and ox drovers. This will be a step towards developing varnasrama

colleges according to Srila Prabhupada's vision.

your servant,

Hare Krsna dasi
