Guest guest
Dear devotees, Hare Krsna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! So far you have heard the devestateing effects that this type of brahminical management has caused, and the reason why are devotees leaving ISKCON.I will now try to explain what measures can we undertake to get ISKCON out of this deep, deep trouble. After our beloved Srila Prabhupada left us, his disciples, our sannyasis have taken the burdento to manage ISKCON to their best abilitys. In those days there was a need for amergency managing to get things done.Today ISKCON is a big organization with big problems, which our current amergency management can not cope with any more.Because of that, there is an overwhelming need for a different kind of management.A management that can swiftly and efishently deal with all problems which are troubleing our society.A management that will response to demands that future events will bring.A management that will consist of devotees who are qualified and experienced managers, and who have big capacity to manage things.Today in ISKCON we have laws and resolutions, but we dont have qualified people in GBC to inflict those laws on our society. Why make this change?Because our Governing body commission is not a SPIRITUAL BODY, it is a ADMINISTRATIVE BODY, and it needs administrators to govern our society. Thats why I would like to propose the following changes to be made: 1.All sannyasis should resign from the managing positions in ISKCON.In this way they will be freed from this big burden of: -haveing to attend long meetings -worrying about bank accounts, bills and projects -associateing with women through managing and meetings -dumping all our problems on to them Such activitys for a sannyasi is like carrying a time bomb, because there is always a big chance of falling down. Also they should not be put in such a drastic position to be subjected to criticisam and judgment all the time. It is our duty to protect our sannyasis, and warn them of this dangerous position that there in right now, and also to warn them of this dangerous position that they brought ISKCON in to. 2.Our sannyasis should dedicate their time in teaching all other varnas and ashrams, how to do their prescribed dutys properly and depend on KRSNA's mercy at the same time.We still dont have a single varnasrama college established in ISKCON, because our sannyasis are rather focused on managing than on teaching. They should concentrate more on preaching and inspireing people all over the world how to nicely surrender to KRSNA. 3.Our GBC should consist of a small number (around 5 people) of most qualified devotee managers that we have in ISKCON today.Current GBC is to big.Because of that, to much time and energy is lost in endless and exhausting discussions.Five qualified devotees who know their job, can do much more work in much shoter time than 30 or 130 unqualified people. These new GBC managers will have to correct all the mistakes made by former governments in ISKCON, and bring abusers to justice for their criminal activitys. They will also have a hard task of regaining faith in ISKCON to many angry and disappointed devotees.I am positive that we have devotees of this profile in ISKCON, it is just that nobody wanted to make proper use of them. 4.We should also form a small council (around 5 people) of most qualified brahmanas that we have in ISKCON.They will supervise the ksatriyas (GBC) only in the sense if they are governing according to religious principles. To much damage has been done in ISKCON, to continue governing with this old brahminical managing structure. Our only chance is to change the structure of GBC righ now and bring new capeble experienced devotee managers, who will make a positive change. This will be our first step towards implementing varnasrama-dharma into our society. Your servant, Janaka das
