I can imagine the headline in the US newspapers:

"Is State Department head Madeline Albright a whore?"

"Hare Krsna monk, inspired by the guru,s statement about Indira Gandhi calls

Minister of State Department a whore, since she is managing the US Ministry

of Foreign Affairs instead of her own at the stove at home, cooking and

taking care of the "inner management" of her husbands home."

What a delight would that be for the newspapers and their reporters, and

what that would mean for ISKCON in the USA one can vividly imagine.

Maybe someone from our learned members of this forum can enlighten us a

little bit why and under which circumstances Prabupada may have used such a

sexist expresion in relation to I. Gandhi. Was it because she was a woman in

a management position or did it had also another cause?

I don't know anything about Prabhupada saying Indira Gandhi was a whore, but

sometimes when Prabhupada would speak with devotees he would say that we are

speaking among ourselves, this is not to be preached in public. He also said

preaching means what to say and what not to say. And he said that he can get

away with saying things that we cannot.

Regarding the meaning of whore according to Prabhupada, he once said an

unmarried woman who doesn't live at home is a prostitute. Of course he didn't

mean prostitiute in the sense of a professional profession, but in the sense

that she did not have a husband but had one or more boyfriends.

Aside from all this, did Prabhupada really say Indira Gandhi was a whore?

Prabhupada called Indira Gandhi a prostitute. He had made the point that

for a woman, independence and freedom "means prostitute".

Prabhupada: So they, the government, they'll be rogues and thieves. And

whenever there is necessity of money, then tax. You work hard; they will

tax. Organized burglars, organized gundas. And Indira was doing that.

Indira and company. Take the power and club(?) them and do whatever you

like. She is a prostitute; her son is a gunda. This is the sample of the...

But it will be done all round the world. This is a sample of that.

Tamala Krsna: She seems to have been one of the worst leaders so far.

Prabhupada: She is not leader, she is a prostitute. Woman given freedom

means prostitute. Free woman means prostitute. What is this prostitute? She

has no fixed-up husband. And free woman means this, daily, new friend.

Tamala Krsna: Who is Indira's husband, a congressman?

Giriraja: He died at an early age. (Room Conversation April 5, 1977, Bombay)

So, please in the future use Prabhupadas definition what it means to be a

prostitute. He said, that a woman who has daily a new friend is a prostitute

(free woman). If woman doesn't have daily new friend then she is not a

prostitute but unmaried woman.

You see, you are very expert in quoting Prabhupadas words for your own

purposes. To prove something that you think is truth, but actually he never

said that.

And SP has also said that woman without husband means prostitute. So let's not

accept only half the hen.

So do we have prostitutarini asramas in our movement? It depends on what the

women without the husband does. If she serves Krsna all day, obvioiusly she

is the topmost human being.
