INDIA NEEDS A STRONG RULER

Dear Akhilesvara prabhu,

 

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

 

The sword is necessary. When dealing with the Personality of Kali, Maharaja

Pariksit didn't just go to him and say "Chant Hare Krishna and maybe we'll get

along!" He was prepared to kill him on the spot for his offenses against

Dharma. The only reason he didn't is because Kali surrendered to him and

agreed to abide by his ruling.

 

Enforcement doesn't just include the sword, but if you mean by 'sword'

appropriate punishments for breaking the law, then yes, the sword by all

means.

 

Congregational chanting of the Hare Krishna maha mantra is the yuga dharma. It

must be done, or all else will fail. But does that mean that the systems of

government, justice, etc., should be neglected? No. These must go on also.

 

Lord Chaitanya didn't preach against the state, per se. Indeed, when one of

his own followers was sentenced by the Muslim ruler to be thrown on the changa

(raised stakes) and Lord Chaitanya heard that he had broken the law, he at

first refused to intervene.

 

My heart bleeds for India. Have you been there lately? The air in the cities

in positively unbreathable, human stool is deposited everywhere, graft and

bribery are all-pervasive, AIDS is spreading like wildfire, women are forced

into prostitution, babies are aborted because they're female, dacoits are

holding up devotees at gun-point in the Holy Dhama, etc. A strong ruler with

an iron fist for miscreants is a MUST for India, if she is not to descend into

chaos.
