Examples of transgressions of varnasrama-positions

"In effect , Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya became the leader of all students of

logic. Although he was a grhasta, he even taught many sannyasis in the

knowledge of logic." (Adi-lila, 10, 130, purport)

 

"Pradyumna Misra was born of a brahmana family and Ramananda Raya of a

non-brahmana family, yet Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu advised Pradyumna Misra to

take instruction from Ramananda Raya."

 

" Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu preached about devotional service, ecstatic love

and the Absolute Truth by making Ramananda Raya, a grhasta born in a low

family, the speaker. Then Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu himself, the exalted

brahmana-sannyasi, and Pradyumna Misra, the purified brahmana, both became

the hearers of Ramananda Raya." (Antya-lila 5. 85)

 

"Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu exhibited the glories of the holy name of the

Lord through Haridasa Thakura, who was born in a Mohammedan family.Similarly

He exhibited the essence of devotional service through Sanatana Goswami who

had almost been converted into a Mohammedan."(Antya-lila 5.86)

 

"The Lord also fully exhibited the ecstatic love and transcendental

pastimes of Vrndavana through Srila Rupa Goswami. Considering all this, who

can understand the deep plans of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu?" (Antya-lila

5.87)

 

So despite the need to establish proper behaviour according to varnasrama

principles for the protection and elevation of the people in general, I very

much question the need of having people, who are already nicely engaged in

serving the Lord according to their different abilities as teachers,

managers, writers or leaders and who are actually very chasted wifes too (

allthough some think it is impossible) to withdraw themselves from that

service. Since the real and superior purpose of the varnasrama-system is to

engage all people in the service of the Lord.

 

This is not mayavad-philosophy, since noone have claimed the living

entities to be equal to the Lord. But the spiritual equality of all living

entities are certainly there. And the power of Lord Caitanya was so great

that He even elevated and engaged dogs and tigers in His service.

 

A women might not be happy managing or leading and thus she should not be

forced. That is protection. However if she wants and she are able, what is

the need of holding her back? If this is her nature noone will be able to

change that anyway. Better she is engaged in the service of the Lord.
