I do not see Simple Living and High Thinking as "going back", I se it as going

forward. We become blind to this fact when we are mired in the modern

civilization of technology-dependency. Regular breaks from it to visit the

country and forests develops finer tissues of the brain which in turn

enlighten us.

We tend to make things more complicated than necessary. We think we should

only "do" varnasrama-dharma if we can do it "perfectly". We don't do anything

perfectly so we just end up on the mental platform thinking "if only...".

Varnasrama-dharma can be started immediately by us crude pioneers - that's the

idea!

"Ultimately the aim of varnasrama-dharma is to turn a crude man into a pure

devotee of the Lord, or a Vaisnava." SB 1.2.2

We don't first become pure and spiritually advanced THEN take up

varnasrama-dharma. It's the other way around.
