I tried everywhere I went and got slapped across the face by a "swami" at one place (NY) and run out of the community by another "swami" (LA). I was going to deck both of them but there were other bhaktas around so I held back. Mostly the leaders of the temples were totally politically motivated towards favoring the "advanced" big guns and would simply squash any attempt by a householder to protect women and children. I left the toxic situation. I was raising my own sons and didn't want them anywhere near them. It's not like the problem has dissappeared now either from what I see. Any renewed attempt at a revolution must include a positive alternative to the existing mismanagement. The only viable alternative, as I see it, is varnasrama-dharma. It is very powerful stuff and one which, if presented to the "followers" intelligently, would easily defeat the present system.
