That is one idea of the Cow Trust that it could hold rental properties and use the rent generated to fund cow protection programs which could hire the devotees, recycling the capital. > However maybe that is not the purpose of ISKCON? With the pasage of the Minimum Cow Standards by the GBC, establishment of Cow Trusts is both allowed and encouraged. Certainly not the sole purpose of ISKCON, but a contributing practice to ultimately sustain brahminical culture. > Or could it be included under the 6. purpose: "To bring the members closer > together for the purpose of teaching a simpler and more natural way of > life." What do you think? Bingo.
Guest guest
Thank you for the encouraging news. How do you establish such a Cow Trust? Who is the responsible owner? Do you know if there are any similar establishments or GBC resolutions with the purpose of opening Krishna-consciouss schools. Your Servant Gunamani d.d. Laws will vary country to country and need persons of expertise to do. I feel like a great failure that I have not yet assissted in the actual formation of one. It is definitely on the list. A prototype would have wide value, I hope. Most successful colleges and universities have Trust Funds. A visit to their capital gifts departments can be quite instructive. Especially with the appreciation in stocks in the US now, Charitable Remainder Trusts are something we should be setting up left and right to benefit the actual Cow Trust itself.
