Democracy won't help; the person who knows or is blessed by Lord Krsna can change things and yet keep the spirit of the text in tact. Some Godbrothers that you speak of should NEVER be consulted especially those who are now Mayavadis. > Thousands of Srila Prabhupada's disciples are at odds over this Book edit > issue and yet no concerted effort has ever been made to ask FIRST before > making the changes. Actually, your analysis is offensive because it is shortsighted. The argument over meaning only constitutes the mental platform. The physical platform is the black and white and you should already know that's not too important (since the gita is being translated into many languages with different patterns of black and white). So what's left? The devotional platform (the only one that really matters). There are two types of devotional services: (1) authorized by the spiritual master or Krsna and (2) ajnata-sukrta (unknowingly doing service that is accepted/desired by Krsna). You seem to deny (1). Unless you can rule out (2), you are risking vaisnava aparadha. Once you can PROVE to rule out (2), then you can argue on the mental plane whether it preserves the meaning. > They should at least call their book by its rightful name ( which even common > publishing pirates use): Jayadvaita's Bhagavad-gita As It Isn't - The > Unauthorized Bootleg. Get it now while its HOT! If Krsna has accepted his service, it remains Bhagavad-gita AS IT IS and you are in thick soup (which I believe you already are in). > And if not, why wouldn't they publish them without his approval? I know the answer is NOT obvious so I'll give it to you: because it's NOT your service. Just by executing your devotional service, everything else is automatically taken care of.
