I was wondering who put it together and whether there is any more information on it. Is this actually from the Ministry of Cow Protection and Agriculture? Who is doing the evaluating? We the Ministry of Cow Protection and Agriculture know nothing about it. Certainly would disagree with some of the ratings. Good question as to who is putting this together and if they have any knowledge of the cow standards by which to rate a farm. The following was taken from the published GBC minutes for this year. 507. [LAW] CARE FOR COWS THAT the "Minimum Cow Protection Standards" (Appendix "B" to these minutes), prepared by the Ministry of Cow Protection and Agriculture, is hereby ratified by the GBC Body, and it thereby becomes part of ISKCON Law. The rating system is based on a series of questions about different topics, like agriculture, cows, book distribution, restuarants ..... The questions asked are the cows situation improved, same or poor. The TP or whoever they ask to answer these questions can just go down the list and from their fertile brains answer the question according to how they feel. Not a very good evaluation system. A good beginning attempt to get a handle on the situation. Good starting point for a more in depth study. We do need to get the evaluation sheets that the GBC are to use ready. The next immediate step on this page is to put in who the GBC man actually is. Did we ever find out who did compile it? It comes from the survey they carried out with a questionnaire to all the temples and farms.
