I don't think that verbal abuse is only defined according to what exact

words one uses, but more by the mood behind it. You may have decided for

yourself that you will never use any swear words or similar ever in your

discussions and keep your language on a more civilized level. I respect you

for that. But that does not necessarily make you purer or more civilized

than a person who rather puts emhpasis on other things, a person who uses

certain words since he / she was little. Instead of trying to work on

external things, like the language, such a person may work within instead,

which obviously is more important.

 

In your response to Madhava Gosh, you indicate that his "improper" comment

shows his low varna. That is in my opinion a less welcome and insensitive

remark than his to Virender. It sounds to me like a comment from a

caste-brahmana.

 

I believe that it takes more than advanced language qualifications to be a

teacher to the members of this conferance. If you can show by your

contributions that you are qualified as a true brahmana, and thus worthy of

respect, then that is fine. I know you are very intelligent, and you usually

seem to be sensitive and down-to-earth.

 

But I personally don't like your reference to Madhava Gosh's low varna, and

to the accusation that Janesvara goes to prostitutes.
