I think most of us have seen enough posts by Sthita-dhi prabhu to be able to distinguish between when he's serious and when he's not. Before the recent series of nasty letters, it seemed like everyone appreciated his dry sense of humor and wit, but the tone of the conference has definitely changed in the last few days. I just don't understand how you can come barging into this conference, yell profanities and hurl out accusations of the most serious kind and then act all insulted when people gently poke fun at you or suggest counseling. You sound like you feel misunderstood, but you're the one who accused Madhava Gosh of participating in cow slaughter and neglect (which you have partly retracted). You even criticize non-native speakers for their less than perfect spelling, and then proceed to make spelling mistakes yourself. Maybe you need to go and take a few deep breaths and count to ten a few hundred times. I have nothing against discussing animal abuse and neglect here, but the way you went about it was a very destructive, not constructive process. Your attitude (given that this is a concept you're fond of criticizing others for) seemed to be much more one of revenge for making you feel misunderstood (about the sannyasa non-issue) than one out of true concern for cow welfare. If your prime motive was to bring a situation to our attention, in which cows were being abused, you could simply have done so, without dragging up prior interpersonal interactions, other people's use of profanities etc. According to Balabhadra's letter, there appears to have been some severe neglect that may have resulted in preventable deaths. That's awful. However, I also read he feels that the people who are currently involved in NV cow protection are working very hard to rectify past mistakes and to work with his office. So what exactly is it that you're trying to convey here with your texts re the NV cows? Ys, Madhusudani dasi
