Its good to be bluntly cynical sometimes. A KC leader, or any mature leader, wants to train > followers to grow up to learn how to take responsibility for their own > actions. Well of course. It is not that the guru trains one how to do his business or how to change nappies. I was generalising. A teenage boy can be given one type of training or instrucion, and a mature adult another. The point is that a real guru does KNOW what we need. I mean Tamal was not exactly a baby when Prabhupada told him to go to China. > We all recognize Srila Prabhupada as someone who is capable beyond > reproach, yet he didn't choose to remain physically present to eternally > hold the hands of his young followers. He ultimately trained them to think > for themselves as both his loyal disciples and servants of Krsna. Prabhupada did an extraordinary amount of work for a man so late in life. Physicaly his body was just skin and bones when he left. I am not so sure he would not want to train them more. He did speak of going to Gita Nagari to teach them to live off the land. Personaly I feel they needed to learn a lot more about surrender, as we never actualy got varnasrama off the ground, and now practicaly no one wants to do it. > > > If you accept whatever > > service he gives you, without any motivation, and he is a pure devotee, > > you > will get mercy, and make actual TANGIBLE spritual advancement. > > > > Ultimately it is Krsna who accepts the service, the guru acts as a > representative. It is ultimately Krsna's system to train his prospective > bhaktas by this method. The guru has not potency beyond that. By Krsna's mercy you get guru.
