Jokes [3052]

from the North American leaders' conference minutes

---------------------------

I received the following in the mail yesterday from the North American

Leadership Conference, with a request to post same on the temple board.I'm

grateful to whoever typed this for some humor.

"AS practioners of bhakti-yoga, members of the international Society for

Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) believe that we should develop our God-given

talents, skills, and ptential to our full capacity. Thus, u nder the

principle of yukta-vairagya, we shou8ld utilize our full abilities in the

service of the Supreme Lord Sri krishna, the ISKCON sicity and socity at

large.

Thus, as a general principle ISKCON does not encourage young people to

postpose or abandon their university studies in order to take up full-time

missionary activities in ISKCON. Rather, we encourage students to add the

practices of Krishna consciousness, such as vegetarianism, mantra

meditation, and the study of Vaishnava literature to their daily lives.

This policy is even more pertinent in regard to high school students who are

also subject to the ISKOCN requirement that no-one under 128 years of age

may reside in an ISKCON temple without prior written parental approval."
