I am not sure if we all have leadership potential, but we can certainly make

a difference.

 

There seems to be a mood developing in this conference of grass roots

activism, and this looks really healthy. For many years we sat back and

complained about the 'faults' of our leaders. But we are also responsible.

So lets take these things into our own hands, and lobby like hell for

change, and for the law makers to follow their own laws, or face the hard

reality that they ought not be making laws that they cannot enforce. It is

about time we got practical, and us 'devotees in the street' took some more

'rightously indignant' action to make sure things are done right.

 

Personaly I think the problem lies in the desires of some leaders to 'make a

name' for themselves with some grandiose project, rather than being what

they are actualy supposed to be, 'servants' of ISKCON. They need to sit with

the devotees, and restrict their activities to only those which are

essential for the good of the society, and once that is done, only then will

they have time for more 'glorious' projects.

 

By the way, are you the Ananda Maya, who worked the land around the Temple

at Knocklion House, Templeogue, Dublin (sorry 'bout the spelling), with your

husband Prahlada?

I was always so impressed with the hard work and happy enthusiasm you both

put into taking care of Krsna's land. It was partly your example that has

finaly lead me to taking the steps of securing my own land, as I feel the

need to take personal responsibility for my place on this earth, without

baing a parasite on the ugrakarmic network of modern society.

 

You two have already set the pace by your determination in the face of

(official) neglect, and have helped to inspire me, and I am sure, others to

follow in that noble prefession of taking care of the land.

 

Sounds like you have moved back to Inish Rath? Or is Derrylin somewhere

else?
