But why take a more difficult path? The difficult and next-to-impossible path is to think we don't need more advanced association RIGHT NOW in order to make accelerated progress in this lifetime. Srila Narottama dasa Thakura has given us his deliberate conclusion: chadiya vaisnava seva nistara payeche keba "Who has ever attained perfection by avoiding the asociation of advanced Vaisnavas?" Look the lives of our great acaryas: what example did they set? Upon the disappearance of the preceptor acarya (all maha-bhagavatas), they immediately took shleter of another great Vaisnava. Taking shelter of superior Vaisnavas is the basic principle of making (wonderful) spiritual advancement. If you don't believe such Vaisnavas exist already means you have a serious problem. But if you don't even believe you NEED such advanced association, then you are in a gravely ill spiritual condition. Because who can help you if you think you are already okay?
