Personally, I do not like to reason ill; I believe Vaisnavas never die. Prahlada, Dhruva, and my favorites, the Pandavas, are Vaisnavas who never die. Opening Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami's books everyday brings them close and gives me joy and peace in the service of the Lord. That is the only reason I would wish for knowledge. > But if you don't even believe you NEED such advanced association, then you are > in a gravely ill spiritual condition. Because who can help you if you think > you are already okay? I am definitley NOT "OK". I have, however, accepted Srila Prabhupada as my guru. That is eternal. I will not ever need another diksa guru. I will always want and need siksa gurus. Siksa gurus are Vaisnavas and Vaisnavas never die. Vaisnavas live forever in Srila Prabhupada's books and from therein give me their eternal blessed association. I do not measure the effectiveness of their association in my so-called jnani advancement or brahminical symptoms; I measure it in my ever-growing desire to remember the lotus feet of the Lord and, upon remembrance, to chant His holy name. Srila Prabhupada said "EVERYTHING is there in my books." I believe him and I know he made them accessible to EVERYONE and that everyone will be able to "read the fine print" as the result of the cleansing process of chanting the holy names of the Lord. I do not feel any less association with Srila Prabhupada now that he is "gone" than when he was "here".
