I am NOT for the demise of ISKCON; I advocate citizen active involvement and admonish apathy. But we MUST make every attempt to cure the movement of apparent social diseases through implementation of varnasrama-dharma as described by Srila Prabhupada. If we are not successful due to corrupt leaders then another branch of the tree can be started. Right now I have about as much interest in ISKCON as Srila Prabhupada had in the Gaudiya Matha when he started ISKCON. But I have not given up all hope. Perhaps ISKCON can support "cooperative extension" programs of devotees trying to promote programs like VAD while they are reconciling their troubles? > How can you decry the importance of "advanced devotees" (sadhu) without losing > your credibility? Never would decry such a thing. But then, I know that such association can be found within ISKCON and amongst my godbrother/sister friends, and particularly in Srila Prabhupada's books. This is complete Vaisnava association. > The fanatical attempt to advocate that devotional service > can be successfully performed by avoiding or neglecting sadhu-sanga is simply > foolish. We will leave that to their good judgement I guess. I will tell them again they need go nowhere but into Srila Prabhupada's books for all of the "highly advanced" association they need. If they also have the nice company of devotee friends in and around ISKCON then everything is very nice.
