There is no need to be afraid of Mahanidhi. He is a very compassionate

person who cares a great deal about devotees. He and his wife have both

been through hell - a few times - in ISKCON, and have been hurt. I'm

amazed that he, and others like him, are still attracted to Krsna

Consciousness. What you're seeing is just the trademark Mahanidhi humor.

It's special and it took me a while both to recognize and appreciate it

too. Over the years I have argued with him too off and on (and with many

other devotees, since I seem to occupy ISKCON's left flank), but he has

*never* given me any reason to be afraid of answering his texts (I

think/hope you were joking when you made that statement too).

Another one of Mahanidhi's good qualities is that he can "take" as well as

he can "give", and can even laugh at himself. That is a rare trait these

days, when way too many devotees take themselves much too seriously.

My (admittedly unsolicted) advice is that you take a step back and pretend

Mahanidhi's texts are to someone else. Chances are you'll even find

yourself laughing out loud at some of his words. I know for a fact that he

is the well wisher of both of us.
