Guest guest
> > The purport does not explicitly say that the events in the spiritual world > are "prior to our choosing." Oh, then WHAT is it if not "prior"?? After? Right now? Say it loudly so that we may know. It is incredible how otherwise clear and explicit purport by Srila Prabhupada can be "screwed-up" so much so to mean just anything or just nothing. > With regard to the phrase "when the living > entity wants to enjoy himself", this is not necessarily ascribed to any > specific point of time; the introduction to TLC says "Although we speak of > 'when' Krishna desires, just when He did desire we cannot say." Further, > OED says that "when" can also mean "in what case or circumstances" or "on > any occasion that" (the latter suggests that "whenever" is just a special > case of "when"). You are simply taking randomly any possible meaning of the words as offered by some word dictionary, and then throwing them into Srila Prabhupada's purport without absolutely any consideration of the context. You have completely lost the entire picture (if you have ever had it at al) as Prabhupada is presenting it. This obsession with "atomizing" some particular words leads you to meaninglessness. That is the sickness of mental speculators. All they trust is their ability to brake every possible thing into atoms, and then they trap themselves (and those who belive them) into to a "no-meaning-here" blind street. > In any case, there is no reason to assume that the "when" > means at a specific instant in time before which the living entity was in > the spiritual world. But there are all reasons to assume anything else that will make Srila Prabhupada's purport sound completely meaningless?? You don't even give any chance to Prabhupada to mean: - The living entity and the Lord were together in the Spiritual World - Then (at some point of eternal time) the living entity decided to exercise his free will and thus to leave. - The Supreme Lords nevertheless does not leave the living entity to go alone, but when (in that point of eternal time *when* that happens) the living entity decides to leave, He goes with him to accompany him in the material world, So anybody who understands Srila Prabhupada's purport on this way is presumed not to first study thoroughly OED as Vijay have done, and to be speculating badly. Vijay says that we in any case got no reason to "assume" the above meaning. WHAT then the meaning *is*, Vijay??? - mnd
