Yes, but you conveniently leave out, as ISKCON has always done, the references for those devotees who by nature are not book distributors but who HELP the book distribution and are therefore equal and ARE distributing books by their other service according to their varnas. "And for management, this brain, hand, leg, belly, must be divided. Just like there is slight difference between those who are directly engaged in temple worship and those who are going out to sell books. Apparently there is difference but basically there is no difference. If one can sell books nicely, why should he be engaged in temple worship? He can do better work in that way. But there is no difference between selling the books and temple worship or washing the dish." "Madhuvisa Swami: Srila Prabhupada, Krsna says in the Bhagavad gita, "Those who repeat this message of Bhagavad Gita, those persons are most dear to Me. There is no one more dear to Me than he." Now wouldn't that indicate that a preacher is higher than a worker? Srila Prabhupada: No! This is preaching to help. Suppose you are preaching and I am helping you. This is also preaching. Atreya Rsi: This building is also preaching. Srila Prabhupada: Yes, this is also preaching. So it is not that preaching simply means talking. Preaching means everything. Construction is also preaching, designing is also preaching. Everything is preaching. Otherwise, what is the use of spending so much money if it is not preaching? Devotee: Anything that has to do with propagating Krsna consciousness in any way. Srila Prabhupada: Yes, it is also preaching." Varnasrama morning walks '74 ISKCON leaders have used this "preachers/book distributors are the highest" for years as a subversion tactic to force bhaktas out on to the street if they want to expect any respect from the leaders. > There are many, many more clear references from Srila Prabhupada. Clear references to WHAT? To NOT divide the society of devotees in to their natural varna divisions? Are you against varnasrama, Prabhu? > > What if the new bhakta was a vaisya by nature from DAY ONE > > and would have been a fantastic servitor of the cows who are suffering? > > Don't use "cow's suffering" as the argument against the idea of > "3-years temple life" period. Why not? Three years temple life for a vaisya is unnecessary. There must be farms to engage them properly and to protect the cows that have suffered badly in ISKCON. What is your suggestion for cow protection?
