Guest guest
> Why in every *temple*?? Srila Prabhupada wanted varnasrama colleges. Yes. > That's true. Yes, he says "Everywhere, wherever we have got our center," > But I don't understand why to insist that Prabhupada wanted varnasrama > college in every *temple*. He wanted it "everywhere". > There wherever we got our centers. Wherever the devotees are. Isn't that > just logical? Why such a big argument over a little semantics. Prabhupada says in all of our centers. What are our centers? They are temples. OK their might be a few places nowadays that are not temples per se. but back then the majority were temples. Temples or centers? Actualy in each of our centers we have a room that is a temple, so a varnasrama college in that room, with cows, and soap making equipment, etc, would certainly be inconvenient during Aroti, I must agree. But apart from the Temple we have the ashrams, and the kitchens, and so many other things that arent the temple. So maybe if we have some other rooms we can spare, or some land, THERE we can place our varnasrama college, hows that? Not in the temple, oh no. Or must we find somewhere away from our centers, where devotees will have to commute everyday? Well in some places it might be necesary. In other places where we have congregation who would like to help, then great. The point is that wherever we do it, lets just do it. It requires us to do it, as Srila Prabhupada desired that, and that is indicated in the fact that he wanted it done in all our centers/temples (but not the temple room). > > I don't know. We are shooting on taking over the world, but > then our vision can't reach further that some temple walls stand. Prabhupada had a vision of us setting up in our centers that were temples, and he didn't seem to think it would be a big problem. > Everything got to be happening in there: the deity worship and all the > related activities, all the preaching activities, book production and book > distribution, varnasrama colleges with all the varna training, living > accommodation facilities, running businesses and money making, > establishing VAD, learning how to use the left hand and not the right one > when to wash the dirty parts of the body, and everything else. Bit of a squeeze eh. Of course there are many temples I know of, especialy in America, where there are acres of land, buildings galore, and very few devotees to do all the stuff that has to be done, so a varnasrama college (VC) might be a nice thing to have if it actualy attracts people to do something practical. Srila Prabhupada was very practical, if there aint room, you cant do it. but its not as if our places are bursting with qualified brahmins now is it. > > > > > > You should write a book. Yep thats me, only in it for the glory! But as > I am... better to get rid of such a "party-pooper". > Well, you become a moderator then. Or ask me honestly to stop > replying on your texts (I guess I'll do it anyway at one moment) Youve got me stumped there. I'm speechless. What can I say? It appears that not many are really into me doing the moderating, so I guess we'll just have to carry on the way we are, despite what I might like or not like...sob. Ok Im going off to cry now in great bitterness, so i can work over all my grudges, and lament, and all that other stuff, that's supposed to be an integral part of my character.
