Obviously none here is attempting to discredit the original pure

Indian/Vedic culture. We are indeed trying to adopt it into our

own lives. We even agreed to change our mother-given names for

the "Indian" ones, and our born-in religion for the religion

of "India".

 

 

But when the contemporary India and Indians are being advertised as

the ideal to look upon, then you can't expect us to be not cautious

and critical. It doesn't matter who influenced India, what matters

is what the example of a society and culture they are showing to the

world. Didn't Prabhupada stated for a certain Indian gentleman

(a former state minister) how he was going to take his next birth

as a dog in Sweden? So much so for his being "Indian", and even the

top one.

 

If you claim to be possessing the most perfect culture, then your

failure in demonstrating and showing it to the world is only yours.

Finding the excuses of "bad West" influence is meaningless, and

getting all upset when the nonsense is being pointed on is not

going to help. In India you can find some most disgusting

and sinful social practices that can't be found even in any of

the Western countries. Sin is sin, and those who are expected to

be the knower of Dharma are even more accountable for it in front

Dharmaraja. You can tell to him, "It's the bad West influence".

 

The bottom line -- it is the particular good examples of those

who practice pure Vedic culture to look upon, an not simply

"India". This later would be barely some cheap nationalistic

pride.
