Just an interesting opinion: "Lust is something which is based on exploitation. Since we are speaking about the so-called love between people, which in this question is manifest sometimes as lust, we can define lust as that which is meant simply for the satisfaction of that lust. The reason I said it like that is because one cannot actually say it is meant for satisfying the senses, for the satisfying of lust does not necessarily mean that one is satisfying one senses. As far as I can see, when one tries to satisfy his lust he is simply following the urges of lust for the satisfaction of that lust alone. It is something which is very selfish, self centered, unconcerned with the needs or desires of others, and even counterproductive to one's own requirements whereby one becomes blind to the often unpleasant consequences of actions performed to satisfy that lust. Love, on the other hand, is something which is actually spiritual. That energy of love comes directly from Sri Sri Radha and Krsna and all love which is experienced anywhere in existence is actually a part of that love which comes from the Supreme. This means that when you feel the energy of love you are actually contacting that love of Radha and Krsna. It is important to know here that when we speak of love, we are speaking of that spiritual love which is the essence of love. It is important to note that people do not understand the actual meaning of the word love and therefore often mistake it for some other quality which it is not. Love is love and there is no other quality which is love. When one actually experiences love, one is actually experiencing spiritual love. I know that certain classes of spiritualists say that there is no possibility of experiencing spiritual love, or in other words, real love, in this material world. I think that is a mistake. When one is a spiritual living entity, who possesses spiritual consciousness, he most certainly has the capacity to connect periodically to his spiritual energy. Since we are by nature not different from the Supreme in our quality, we have within our hearts that energy of spiritual love. Since that energy is within our hearts we can experience it under certain advantageous circumstances. When one is very much spiritually advanced he can experience that spiritual love much more than one who is not so spiritually advanced. However, anyone who can open the channel within his heart and thus contact his spiritual quality can experience with certain persons and under certain circumstances actual love. There is no need to debate at this point how one can open that channel neither if it is possible for a non-devotee to experience the spiritual energy for in fact all consciousness is spiritual. Simply one must see how the consciousness is directed. In brief, love is the supreme energy personified by Radha and Krsna emanating from Them and which is the very essence of us, Their spiritual parts. When, due to some stimulation which attracts and indeed captures our energy, we have the possibility to come in contact with our own reservoir of love emanating from our own hearts. It is at this point when the feel that connection to the spiritual love that the union between the energy of persons may take place."
