devotees, please be so kind to pass it on to anyone who is not on the PAMHO

network, and ask them to pass on their animal stories to him by e-mail or by

snail mail

ANIMALS IN KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS

 

"The merciful qualities of Lord Caitanya and Lord

Nityananda are so great that they make even birds and

beasts cry, what to speak of human beings."

The quality of Lord Caitanya's movement is also

suprememly merciful to reach out and deliver even

animals, birds, plants etc..

Lord Caitanya was in anxiety as to the suffering of

the non-moving living entities, what to speak of the

moving. He therefore delivered the Holy Names to one

and all. Srila Prabhuapda writes - "Even a dog can

take part in Krishna consciousness...."

We have seen within and without ISKCON some amazing

examples of animals becoming extraordinary devotees

and engaging in special devotional service. In our

Vaisnava history are stories of mad elephants, snakes

etc. taking initiation. Lord Caitanya delivering dogs,

and in more recent history elephants in Guruvayur,

eagles in South India....

Within ISKCON we have heard of many extraordinary

animals who manifested great devotional symptoms.

This is a request to you to please share with others

any such experiences you have had. Maybe you know

someone else who has had but may not be receiving

this. For the sake of future generations of anaimals

(and humans) and to show how great is Lord Caitanya's

mercy, as well as his devotees, we are embarking on a

simple book - "Animals in Krishna consciousness".

Please be so kind as to send me any special stories

together with pictures that show their devotion.

Pictures say more than a thousand words. Many devotees

here and there have encouraged me to do this. If

anyone is qualifeid I might be as I am lower than an

animal. Somehow I have also encoutered quite a few

extraordinary animals in my efforts to be a devotee.

No doubt any animal that shows attraction to prasadaam

etc. is special, but I am looking for stories of

ongoing devotion, deep attraction - something unique.
