dhairyam-patience; alambya-attaining; sodhva-tolerating; muncan-releasing;

soka-of grief; asru-of tears; dharam-a shower; ati-very; karuna-pathetic;

gira-with words; radhika-krsna-of ®r… ®r… Radha-Krsna; namani-the names;

udgayan-singing; karhi-when?; vrndavanam-in Vndavana; ati-very;

vikalah-agitated; akincanah-without any possessions; sancarami--will I

wander.

 

When, patiently tolerating hundreds of kicks, millions of insults, and

the constant onslaught of hunger, thirst, cold, heat, and hundreds of other

sufferings, penniless, agitated, shedding a great shower of tears, and

calling out the names of ®r… ®r… R€dh€-KŠa in a piteous voice, will I

wander in this land of Vndavana?

sarve bhog€ y€nti tatra sthite 'pi

tasm€t saukhy€bh€sa uccair vibh€ti

nity€nande nanda vnd€van€ntaƒ

 

adya-today; svah-tomorrow; va-or; yasyati-will go; idam--this;

ku-deham-worthless material body; sarve-all; bhogah-enjoyments; yanti-go;

tatra-there; sthite-situated; api-even; tasmat-therefore; saukhya-of

happiness; abhasah-the mirage; uccaih-largely; vibhati-is manifest;

nitya-eternal; anande-full of bliss; nanda-rejoice; vrndavana-Vndavana;

antah-within.

 

Today or tomorrow this worthless material body will leave me and I will

lose all the material happiness connected with it. Because this material

happiness is temporary, it should be understood to be only a mirage of the

real happiness. O my mind, please abandon this false happiness and enjoy the

real, eternal happiness of devotional service within the land of Vnd€vana.
