Guest guest
Dear Mahakratu Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Certainly your portrayer of India is correct, and I am definitely not blind to it. But as Canakya Pandita pointed out that an intelligent person must be able to find gold in a pile of mud, just as a poor man marrying a girl from a rich family. Anyone will definitely agree that there is no better place to be Krishna conscious in the world than India, especially in the holy places like Vrindavana and Mayapura. I will personally not stay for one day in India if I have to take into consideration what is going in on in the present day Indian towns and cities. But just to recount to you the beauty part of Indians, I once rode a train from Calcultta to Delhi with few devotees, and we decided to hold kirtan. We started kirtan, and everybody all over the train compartment were very happily taking part giving up their regular chais for the moment. The whole episode culminated in a non-stop preaching for hours. And this was a good Rajdhani trains. Such and experience is unthinkable in the West. Being a devotee of the Lord is quite difficult in the West as you have to constantly deal with the mind, environments and all sorts of unimaginable disturbances. But here in India, the only struggle is coping with the unattainment of the desired goal of life, love of Godhead, in speedier manner, at least I am speaking for a serious devotee. Let's try to be more inward in our thinking and see more about the beauty that is Vedic culture in India. There must be reason why Krishna made all His appearances in India. If her people are not more closer to Krishna, why would He made unneccessary effort to appear there. In reality, Westerners are more crooked than the Indians. Indians pysches are made up of simplicity. As they say "simplicity is vaisnavism" Your servant, Isvara dasa.
