Noticing what Prabhupada characterized as the "first attack" against varnasrama-dharma, one would expect the kind of the first counter-attack. Not against non-Vedic women. But against the perverseness of the varna designations in this age. But we are unable, apparently, to even start classifying ourselves into the four varnas, what to speak of anything else. Perhaps some among us posing as "brahmanas" will have to drop off right on the spot, not fulfilling the criterion for an actual brahmana. So, it's much easier to simply blame women for everything (and not take any responsibility on oneself), and in the same time declare oneself as "Krishna-varna" (then one can act freely, "transcendental" to this lower class materialistic divisions and regulations of varnasrama-dharma). In other words, blame women and impose on them the strict following of the Vedic codes; don't blame men (but defend them when it comes to it) and don't impose on them the strict following of the Vedic codes. ys mnd PS.
