Guest guest
> Once I read in the Archana Paddhati published by Jayatirtha Pr. the mula > mantra of Subhadra was identical with the Durga mantra: bija- > bhuvaneswaryai svaha. He took the informations from the Archana Paddhati > of BP Keshava Maharaja, SP sannyasa guru. That's why I was not sure. Durga is an expansion of Subhadra. The expansion is part of the source so it could be possible to use Durga mantra to worship her source, Subhadra Devi, with proper knowledge of their relationship. There is more about Sri Subhadra's identity at our site: www.veda.harekrsna.cz/encyclopedia/tattvas2.htm Suhotra Swami makes a point there that in Jagannatha Puri temple there is a distinction between Subhadra Devi on the main altar and Vimala Devi (Durga) in a separate temple. Other sakti-tattvas also have their separate temples there. Connections among Subhadra and other saktis and the worship of the Semitic Eli-Asherah-Baal as Jagannatha-Subhadra-Baladeva in Puri, and Horus-Sekhet-SKR (Asar-Baal) in Egypt (and Southern Theban Amen Ra, Khonshu and Mut) are described by Bhakti Ananda Goswami in "An Introduction to the Worship of Jagannatha, Subhadra and Baladeva in The Proto-Catholic Mediterranean Heliopolitan Asyla Federations" posted to INDOLOGY, Saturday, June 16, 2001 6:14 PM, and possibly available elsewhere on the net. Hope this helps. Your servant, bh. Jan www.veda.harekrsna.cz (Bhakti-yoga Vedic Encyclopedia Vedic Library)
