A "sannyasi" is not the synonym for "Krsna's devotee", as I know it. If a brahmacari is devotee, if grihasta is a devotee, if a sannyasi is a devotee, how can you now make the algebric comparation among them in term of who is more advanced in KC, based on the color of their ashrama merely? A sannyas, grhasta, brahmacari... these are material designations after all, while "devotee" is spiritual and has nothing to do with the division on four ashramas. Anyway, I've been always told that to remain a brahmacari is much better than to marry, that to marry means you got 50% less chance to go back to Godhead... So, finally, just see! I (an ISKCON grhastha) and 100 times more KC than an ISKCON brahmacari! (according to Vedas So, back to algebra; If I got 50% chance to go back to Godhead, then a brahmacari got 0,5% chance... and a sannyas 500'000 %. Well, luckily I am not a brahmacari, at least. > Your algebra is interesting -- taking into consideration the Earth's total > population, can you calculate how many devotees or sannyasins there might > be? How many devotees there are on the Earth? I don't know. But I am sure it is more than some 100 ISKCON sannyasins. Hundreds of millions perhaps. One doesn't have to provide a danda in order to be "recognized" as a devotee of God. ys mnd
