Guest guest
----Original Message Follows---- "Krishna Dharma (das) (London - UK)" <Krishna.Dharma (AT) pamho (DOT) net> "I don't know what things are like in India these days, but here in the West we are dealing with 99.9% naradhamas." This is so true! That's why it is a major challenge to preach in the West than in India. Preaching in India sounds like a piece of cake in comparison to what we are facing in the Western world. "Call them what you will -- varna-sankara, duskritina, antyaja -- the bottom line is that they can't strictly follow anything. They first require purification and hence the primary thrust of the acharyas has been to establish the sankirtana movement." Again, another very true statement. Hence, purification is paramount in ISKCON's preaching work; at least it should be. "To try to immediately apply strict dharmic principles, even to those coming to KC, is an endeavour doomed to failure, IMHO. " This is the opinion of many leaders and academics in ISKCON. How do we implant Vedic culture in a culture of weak-minded, sex-mongers, sense-gratifiers, women-hunters? It indeed may be impossible until some purification enterse their hearts.
