But I would leave it to those who have already shown to had thoroughly investigated into this direction too. The idea of protection of chaste ladies by having the "outlet" for men's lust somewhere else than "home" is to prevent these ladies to be molested, raped, sexually misused. Like that. How all this fits in ISKCON, is another question. I belive the intention of JMD was to primarily stamp some matajis as prostitutes, or whores, to condemn them as the lowest of the women. Then when, naturally, matajis got offended, he played "innocence", "Oh, it is Vedic, the devotional service, like in Dvaraka, why are you upset? Let's have it, I am for it fully." So, we got here. However, the actual situation of a whore on the street and an ISKCON mataji that happened to be remarried or simply engaged in some preaching activity outside of "home", is a moment that requieres some sanity to distinguish in between. And, even if in the Vedic society a remarried woman could be considered a "prostitute", the same label for another time and another type of society might not be applicable. The "pro-Vedics" seem to get that far-out idea that if they simply apply some of these side-by "effects" of the already established perfect Vedic society, then that perfect society will simply be there by some chance of miracle. That is big illusion, as I see it. You first got to grow a tree in order to get the fruits. ys mnd
