It is also against the law. The writer of a letter is the copyright owner

of the contents, unless the copyright is specifically assigned to another

party. Even if the letter was written to you and you have the physical

possession, the content belongs to the writer. This is also true of articles

or letters submitted for publication, in print or in electronic form.
