Haribol! I was waiting for a long time for this text. That is the real point. How can you expect the GBC´s, with are mainly sannyasis, to fully protect the female devotees? They have no real idea or experience, how to do that. I am now speaking from a metaphysical point of view. As long as you have sannyasis in the GBC, you MUST have women in the GBC for a balance of male and female energies. The GOVERNING BODY COMMISION is the management body of ISKCON, even if you declare them as brahmins. It is absolutly true. The best would be, when you only have householders in the GBC or management. Then you would not need any female devotees in the GBC, because those GBC-man, which have a nice female (influencial) devotee in the back, are automaticaly also concerned about the protection of woman and children in an (for woman) appropiate and right perspective. So in this you can even see the (PRO) vedic logic, why all sociely work was done by brahminical and ksatriya man householders. If you just take one part of vedic understanding (no woman in leadership), but the other part (no sannyasis in leadership) you neglect, then there will be always a misbalance in society. So as you see, our society has a long way to go. y.s.
