Dear Vijaya, please accept my good wishes. If you will excuse my

inquisitiveness, I wish to understand YOUR position on this idea of submissive

hearing from the pure devotee, or the instruction of approaching the realized

guru as a great fool, or the benefit of giving up long cherished reliance on

logic and mental reasoning, and on the recommendation from our guru of simply

taking a humble stance in approaching the Supreme Lord Absolute Truth Who is

entirely out of reach of our teeny brains.

I have found in my studies that all of the Vaisnava acaryas teach this very

process for realizing the absolute and they all clearly decry the path of

argument, mundane scholarship, and mental, speculative conceptualization.I'm

sure you have also found these principles as basic tenants of bhakti yoga in

our sampradaya.

So, I need to get a clear understanding from you on this point first to

determine if there is any benefit in continuing debate with you. If you do not

accept these basic and cherished ideals of the soft hearted pure devotees,

then it becomes counterproductive to continue like this. What IS your actual

view on these particular ideas of developing transcendental knowledge. Do you

accept them? Are you sincerely trying to adjust your approach to Krsna

consciousness to fit these principles, or are you actually opposed to them.

You have every right to disagree, but it is important for us to understand

whether you are basically in agreement with Srila Prabhupada on these points.

I am asking in all due respect. I am certain that you are a greatly learned

soul. But what I'm not sure about is your basic philosophy.

I understand that you think the soul never fell. And others say differently.

But let's just leave that point alone for a little while until we can

understand if we are on the same wavelength on at least the basic philosophy.

There is no benefit for a devotee to just argue without the presence of

submissiveness, humility, surrender to the pure devotee, pridelessness, and

freedom of material ambition. I am sure that you do not fit that category and

are no doubt sincere, but please tell us first what are your ideas about what

I have mentioned so that we can go on from there in the constructive dialogue

of sincere devotees just searching for the truth so that we can progress on

the path of devotional service.

You might gladly welcome this request from me as a great chance to glorify the

real path of devotional service and to uplift the bonafire pure devotee, and

to praise the principles of surrender. What do you think? Take your time.I

remain your affectionate servant, Mahananda dasa
