I am from South india and often i get the chances of meeting strict Vaishnava brahmins.I went to the thier temple today where i saw a quote : One shouldn't step over the shadow of the Devathas,Mother,Father,Spirtual master and elders as they are guiding personalities for our life and thier shadows carry potency.Even crossing over them is offensive. Ravana, while he was travellin in his space ship tried to cross over Mount Kailash where lord Shiva resides was stopped and made to realise his mistakes after having good lessons from lord Shiva.
