Guest guest
Dear Kavicandra Maharaja, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I am sad to hear that you couldn't find Srila Prabhupada's kirtans in any of the shop in Vrindavana. I should make you aware that I, as a representative of the Archives and the ITV, had made available Srila Prabhupada's multimedia CD's and VCD's at very reasonably low rates for quite sometime now in India. I have made several appeals to the temples shops to take advantage of this opportunities in getting Srila Prabhupada's CD's and VCD's for distribution in their temple gift stores. Up till today, hardly any temple in India, with the exception of Mayapur temple, procures these CD's and VCD's. One temple president even told me that only distributng Srila Prabhupada's books is preaching, and distributing Srila Prabhupada's CD's and VCD's is not preaching. Even my temple here in Vrindabana, thinks it is just a personal business, to the extent that the temple bookshop is forbidden to take any of the CDs and VCDs of Srila Prabhupada for their sales. The result is that in the temple gift stores and even Srila Prabhupada's house, where he performed his last transcendental pastimes before our eyes in this world, you will harldy see Srila Prabhupada's CD or VCD's, but abundantly, you will find any kinds of outside bhajans cassettes, even to my amazement, you will see some Kabir Amrtvani's cassettes. The most disgusting thing I heard one time from one sankirtana leader is people don't like Srila Prabhupada's kirtan, but they like this or that music. It makes you wonder where is the head and heart of our so-called sankirtan devotees with these kinds of mentalities. All the thousands of CD's and VCD's, that we are producing today in Vrindavan are mostly going to foreign countries, with hardly any order from India temples. I guess you will have to find a way to have the India temple leaders develop a mindset to realise that distributing Srila Prabhupada's CD's and VCD's are just as important as distributing his books. your servant, Isvara dasa. > I could not find any tapes of Srila Prabhupada's kirtans in Vrndavan, even > in the shop in Srila Prabhupada's rooms.
