Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, pamho agtsp! We have a few questions we hope you'll graciously answer. I found some statements which seem to say that the atoms of which the material energy is composed are (very fallen) jiva's, living entities. Could you please confirm this. The first one is from a letter 76-2-52. the 17th of February 1976: Matter is originally spirit and when spirit is not distinctly understood, that is matter... Also consciousness in a dormant state is matter; consciousness in a completely developed state is spirit. Matter is the symbol of undeveloped consciousness. Then from a lecture given in L.A in 73-93 on the 5th of December 1973:Molecule has cintya consciousness but it is covered (too much) it is potent (has)-potencies. Molecule has consciousness but it is covered, everything has consciousness but there are degrees of consciousness. And from a lecture 5.5 21-22.Everything is generated from Krsna, but according to consciousness they are divided into superior and inferior energy. The more the consciousness is developed one comes to the superior platform of life..... It is the same energy of the lord, but one is developed and the other is not developed:like this there are varieties of developed consciousness within the material world. In the lecture on SB 3.26.5. (Bombay, december 17,1974) Srila Prabhupada says: "Living entities ,they have knowledge. That is the difference between matter and living entities.Living entities, they have got knowledge. The dull matter still requires to be developed. They are also covered knowledge. There is knowledge, but it is covered. In the Nrsimha-uttara-tapaniya Upanisad 7.2 from the book"60 Upanisads of the Veda" translated by Paul Deussen it has:"Someone asks somebody:Who are you?He answers:aham (I).Similarly, all that exists. Therefore aham (I)is a name for all(Brihad Aranyaka Upanisad 1.4.1.)"........ "further, all this (this whole world) is Brahman which consists of being, thinking and bliss. For all this consists of being, thinking and bliss. That is, firstly, all this is being; for one says [of all that exist]: That is a being. Further, all this is thinking (spirit, cit) also......" "If you ask:What is 'being'the reply is:it is becoming conscious, that this is and this is not". "..everything else in the world must be conscious of [the thinking and the bliss, of which it consists]." We have here another one:in Skanda purana Sri Vaisnava-khanda Sri Vasudeva-mahatmya ch17.t3,and also in SB 2.5.11. it is said that the Brahman effulgence is the original cause of matter. In Vrndavana mahamrta of Srila Prabhodananda Sarasvati,Sataka 17.t43 it is said:"In Vrndavana all living entities and even all things are blissful eternal spiritual and full of knowledge". In the Krsna book(ch.89)"summary description of Lord Krsna"it is said:Brahman consists of spirit souls. The Brahman effulgence is a combination of the minute particles known or spiritual sparks as living entities known as cit-kana. So the conclusion is that matter, the atoms are (fallen) jiva's? ----------------------------
